Script per Installare l'ultima versione di Firefox su Slackware

Con Slackware (stable) si ha installata la versione ESR di Firefox. La Versione esr si aggiorna solo con le patch di sicurezza, senza avanzare di versione, fino al rilascio della ESR successiva.

Se si vuole avere la più moderna e aggiornata versione di Firefox disponibile é sufficiente eseguire lo script che sto per riportare...

Apri un editor di testo (leafpad, mousepad, nano, eccetera), crea un nuovo documento vuoto e incollaci dentro quest testo:

Salva il documento con questo nome:

latest-Firefox.sh


Adesso apri un terminale, portati nella directory che contiene lo script appena creato e lancia l'esecuzione con:

sh latest-Firefox.sh

Terminata la compilazione del pacchetto (pochissimi minuti) troverai il .txz nella directory /tmp (vedi l'output...), Installalo con il solito comando:

upgradepkg --install-new

Conserva lo script e riutilizzalo per ottenere sempre la versione più aggiornata di Firefox.
