DVI "scomparsa" su GT630

Salve.
Sulla scheda grafica, da un momento all'altro, è come "scomparsa" la DVI (che usavo come HDMI, con adattatore). Ora non emette più segnale.
Mi sembra difficile che sia un problema hardware perché il PC era stato spento due mesi (in questo periodo vivo all'estero per lavoro, e torno ogni tanto). Appena l'ho riacceso, si è verificato il problema.
A farmi pensare che sia un problema software è anche il fatto che la schermata di scelta delle partizioni è cambiata, ora ha caratteri molto più grandi, ed anche il logo di Mint che viene subito dopo è più grande.
Ho provato a cambiare driver, caricando quello open source, ma il problema rimane. Tutto il resto funziona, l'ho provato con altri componenti (cavi diversi sulle prese del monitor, etc.).
Sapete dirmi da cosa può dipendere, oppure cosa provare per capire qual è il problema?

Grazie di nuovo. Adesso purtroppo non posso fare quelle prove perché sono dovuto tornare all'estero, ma tra pochi giorni torno di nuovo in Italia e poi vi posto i risultati.

Nella precedente risposta ho dovuto cancellare determinati caratteri perché non li accettava nella risposta, cioè solo quei caratteri verticali che indicano la dipendenza degli sdb numerati dall'sdb principale (sono in pratica segni grafici).

Sei sicuro della funzionalità del monitor? Ha anche altri ingressi oltre all'HDMI (es. VGA)? Sei sicuro che è alimentato (alimentatore bruciato)? Appare l'OSD del monitor? (l'OSD è la finestra dalle quale puoi selezionare ingrassi-risoluzione-colore-luminosità ecc).

Fatto salvo la schermata del grub, la Scrivania appare alla risoluzione giusta?

Il monitor ha due ingressi, HDMI e VGA, e sembra funzionare perfettamente. Ora sto usando quel monitor collegato in VGA. Se lo collego alla porta HDMI della scheda video (che ha tre uscite: HDMI, VGA e DVI), il monitor si vede anche usando l'ingresso HDMI (infatti se cambio ingresso non mi scrive "assenza di segnale in ingresso"), l'OSD (che funziona sempre benissimo) mi riporta attivi sia la VGA che l'HDMI, e il test da questo risultato:

Se invece collego il monitor all'uscita DVI della scheda grafica, l'ingresso HDMI viene rilevato come non attivo dall'OSD del monitor, e se cambio ingresso video mi scrive "assenza di segnale in ingresso". Se lo collego con adattatore DVI-HDMI e cavo HDMI-HDMI, il risultato è lo stesso ed il test da il risultato seguente, che immagino sia identico a quello col cavo DVI-HDMI.
Il problema sembra non essere né il cavo né il monitor ma l'uscita DVI della scheda grafica. Che te ne pare?

È proprio strano che il sistema rilevi correttamente la risoluzione del monitor - vuol dire che monitor e scheda grafica "dialogano" per passarsi le caratteristiche funzionali -

Ma se scambiano questo dialogo (che avviene alla connessione del monitor) perché poi non gli invia i segnali grafici?

Connetti il monitor in DVI-HDMI, apri Impostazioni-->Monitor: appare il secondo monitor?
Prendi nota delle impostazioni varie che appaiono nelle finestra.
Poi connetti il monitor in HDMI-HDMI e ancora Impostazioni-->Monitor
è tutto lo stesso di prima?

Tutto regolare, il sistema vede perfettamente il monitor anche con DVI-HDMI.

Lo farò senz'altro, appena tornerò in Italia, perché nel frattempo sono di nuovo espatriato, ma non so se avverrà prima di Pasqua. Il monitor è l'Hp W2207H in firma.

Eccomi tornato in Italia per le ferie, alla fine del lockdown e relativo blocco dei voli.
Il problema è sempre quello dell'uscita DVI della scheda grafica che sembra non emettere segnale.
Questo è risultato collegato in DVI-HDMI, tramite adattatore DVI-HDMI e cavo HDMI-HDMI.
Grazie di nuovo a tutti per l'aiuto.
