[RISOLTO]stampante HP M1217 su router, non va lo scanner.

Cari,

PREMESSA:
E' da un bel po' che sono su una macchina esclusivamente linux con grandi soddisfazioni. Riesco a farci praticamente tutto.... TRANNE:
Usare la funzione scanner della mia stampante HP connessa al router e non con USB.

Per acquisire con lo scanner, attualmente uso win10 virtualizzato con VBOX. Ma vorrei prescindere dalla macchina virtualizzata.

DOMANDA: Mi potreste dare una mano?

I DATI:

Da proprietà stampante (della periferica che in stampa funziona) vedo;
HP_LaserJet_Professional_M1217nfw_MFP
URI  della periferica ipp://npi605164.local:631/ipp/print
Ho scoperto, amdando sul locahostl:631, che è connessa con un "coso" - perdonatimi - che si chiama CUPS, non ho esattamente capito cosa sia.

Ecco, questo è quello che sono riuscito a ricostruire fino ad ora.

Aggiornamento: FUNZIONA LO SCANNER.

Il brutto è che non so esattamente perché.
Comunque, io ho fatto così:
1 istallare il  tutti i componenti di hplip dal gestore pacchetti della distribuzione. (su mint 17.3 nel 2020 è la 3.17.10, anche se quando si lancia lo script .RUN  dice " distro non supportata, funziona)
2 questo evita il messaggio

"Plugin installation failed
error: Python gobject/dbus may be not installed
error: Plug-in install failed"

che spuntava quando cercavo di installare il plug-in
3 da hplip device manager mettete lP della stampante manualmente, cosi la vede,
4 io ho spento e acceso il pc durante l'istallazione quando chiedeva di fare il restart ( anche se c'era scritto che il passaggio può essere igborato se la stampante è connessa via rete)
5 spegnete il firewall mentre installate la stampante e lo scanner

Metti il [RISOLTO] sul titolo del primo intervento, questi problemi con stampanti e scanner si presentano spesso, la soluzione può rivelarsi utile per molti utenti.
