Ciao,
ieri sera, cambiando scheda su firefox, si è chiuso il browser e poi sono sparite tutte le icone che avevo sulla scrivania! Ho provato ad aprire il menù e mi compativa un elenco testuale (tipo di programmazione).
Usciva una finestrella di errore che cliccandola non portava a nulla. Ho fatto ctrl+alt+f2 e diceva: blk_update_request I/O error
Alla fine ho forzato lo spegnimento e alla riaccensione è tornato tutto alla normalità.
Utilizzo la 18 mate.
C'è qualche controllo che posso fare? O mi conviene aggiornare direttamente alla 20?

journalctl -r | grep "ago 02"
Ti dà i log di ieri.
Vedi se ci sono informazioni degne di nota o errori.

Potresti anche tentare di filtrare con l'errore che ti è apparso

journalctl -r | grep "ago 02" | grep "blk_update_request I/O error"


Da quel che leggo qui potrebbe esserci qualche problema con qualche disco ed il consiglio è di controllare la cavetteria e di fare un check con il comando smartctl.
Prima di tutto installa smartmontools con sudo apt-get install smartmontools
Poi esegui il controllo sul disco interessato.
Dal precedente comando journalctl dovresti individuarlo.
Il comando per eseguire la diagnostica è
sudo smartctl -Hl error /dev/sd?
dove sd? va sostuito appunto con il disco interessato.

Nulla vieta di provare il comando su ognuno dei dischi.

Citazionemi conviene aggiornare direttamente alla 20?
No. Tra l'altro, pare che con la 20 molti stiano riscontrando dei problemi e si consiglia di attendere.

Ho provato il primo comando:
journalctl -r | grep "ago 02"
Posso postare la risposta? Ho modificato la data perché era in realtà stanotte ma già giorno 3.
Perdonami ma non ho tutta questa dimestichezza...

No, non lo ha più fatto, ma è un comportamento piuttosto anomalo per Linux...
Comunque ho spostato sulla partizione "dati" tutto ciò che è qui su mint... quindi se ricapitasse, almeno non perdo materiale.
