trasformare Yavdr in Mint

sto verificando la possibilità di usare Yavdr sul mio prossimo htpc. l'ho provato su VB e direi che fa il caso mio, permette di vedere e registrare la tv, usa l'ottimo xbmc, ha una comoda interfaccia web di configurazione ed è basato su Ubuntu 10.04 server.

il "problema" è io voglio un DE completo, mentre Yavdr usa Livexbmc, cioè l'interfaccia è direttamente xbmc, quindi niente desktop, niente programmi, solo xbmc e un menù minimale con firefox e un terminale.

putroppo, non posso fare il contrario, cioè installare un metapacchetto Yavdr su Mint: We don't recommend to install the yavdr-* packages (yavdr-startup, yavdr-essential, yavdr-utils) on an ordinary Ubuntu installation. You will definitly run into problems if you do that. As a consequence, you won't be able to have the yaVDR web frontend on your ordinary Ubuntu installation. The only way to get the yaVDR web frontend is to install the complete yaVDR distribution from the ISO image.

la domanda quindi è: come faccio a trasformare un'installazione Ubuntu 10.04 server in Mint?
